MOMO, the predecessor to MOMODESIGN was founded by gentleman racer Giampiero Moretti in the 1960s. The name MOMO comes from the initial letters of Moretti-Monza. Monza is a region in the Province of Milan. MOMO's product range includes consumer accessories such as steering wheels, gear shift knobs and alloy wheels, through to race equipment such as racing suits and helmets. In 1981 following MOMO's success as a leading business in luxury car accessories, MOMODESIGN was founded, in order to offer to the company a Style Centre specialized in research and design development. Since the beginning, MOMODESIGN has focused on research activity in car design and development of ideas and innovative projects in lifestyle accessories, creating a product line that helped build the image of the brand. MOMODESIGN remains closely connected to the racing world, especially to F1 and Ferrari, with products based on design and avant-garde products for cars with a sporty and technological imprint. Its contemporary and luxurious timepieces utilize avant-garde materials including carbon composite and carbon fiber.
